Role Overview
This is an entry-level Tax Staff I role focused on State and Local Tax (SALT) compliance and indirect taxes (sales tax, property tax, etc.). The position is hybrid with in-office requirements in Manhattan, NY and is targeted for a Fall 2026 start. This opportunity is on behalf of a Confidential Client in the Accounting & Finance industry.
What You’ll Do
As a Tax Staff I (SALT), you will:
- Assist with preparation of federal and state income tax returns for corporate and individual clients
- Support SALT compliance engagements, with emphasis on indirect taxes (sales tax, property tax, other state/local obligations)
- Contribute to tax provision completion and review, and assist in tax planning tasks
- Prepare workpapers, reconcile tax accounts, and document conclusions
- Use MS Excel and MS Word for analysis, schedules, and client deliverables
- Work in a hybrid team environment and participate in client meetings as needed

Basic Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Accounting
- 0–2 years recent public accounting experience (entry-level candidates welcome)
- Hybrid role with in-office requirements in Manhattan, NY
- Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without employer sponsorship now or in the future
Preferred / Desired Qualifications
- Final graduation (150-credit requirement) between December 2025 and September 2026
- Minimum GPA: 3.0
- Strong MS Excel and MS Word skills
- Excellent time-management and organizational abilities
- Strong work ethic and ability to work independently and on teams
- Good communication, leadership, and analytical skills
Location & Schedule
- Primary work location: Manhattan, New York (hybrid schedule with in-office days required)
- Anticipated start: Fall 2026
Compensation (Pay Transparency)
- Estimated salary: $102,631 per year (estimated). Actual pay may vary based on experience, location, and other factors.
