Role Overview

Confidential Client is seeking a dedicated 1st Grade Self-Contained Teacher to deliver high-quality instruction in a K‑12 classroom in Dayton, TX. The ideal candidate is student-focused, organized, and able to design and deliver lessons that meet district curriculum standards and support diverse learning needs.


Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement lesson plans aligned to district curriculum and TEA guidelines.
  • Differentiate instruction to meet the needs of all learners and reflect multiple learning styles.
  • Use formative and summative assessments to monitor student progress and guide instruction.
  • Collaborate with special education staff to modify curriculum per Individualized Education Plans (IEPs).
  • Manage classroom behavior in accordance with the Student Code of Conduct and school policies.
  • Plan and supervise teacher aides and volunteers when assigned.
  • Integrate technology to support instruction and student engagement.
  • Communicate regularly with parents, administrators, and colleagues; participate in conferences and staff meetings.
  • Sponsor or support extracurricular activities when assigned.
  • Maintain accurate records, compile reports, and complete required documentation in a timely manner.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university.
  • Valid Texas teaching certificate with required endorsements for the assigned grade/subject.
  • Demonstrated competency in the assigned academic subject area.
  • At least one year of student teaching, approved internship, or clinical teaching.
  • Strong classroom management, organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Familiarity with curriculum and instruction best practices and state guidelines.

Preferred / Valuable Skills

  • Experience with early elementary (K–2) instruction.
  • Skill in differentiating instruction and designing accommodations/modifications.
  • Experience collaborating with special education staff and implementing IEP accommodations.
  • Proficiency integrating instructional technology into lessons.

Compensation & Employment Details

  • Employment type: Contract, Full time.
  • Estimated salary: $51,997 per year (estimated in source posting).
  • Reports to: Principal.
  • Location: Dayton, TX (on-site).
  • This posting follows applicable state and federal employment laws. Candidates must hold required certifications for Texas.

Working Conditions & Physical Requirements

  • Fast-paced school environment; maintain emotional control under stress.
  • Frequently standing, stooping, bending, pulling, and pushing; may move small stacks of textbooks, media equipment, desks, and other classroom materials.
  • Responsible for student safety and maintaining a positive classroom climate.
